Patient Delivered Partner Therapy – ADOPT Project
The Australian Development and Operationalisation of Partner Therapy (ADOPT) project involves two components: 1) Development and implementation and 2) Evaluation
The development and implementation stage will involve the development of all the resources needed for clinicians and patients to undertake patient delivered partner therapy (PDPT) such as guidance documents, information sheets, training sessions and data collection tools. Then selected publicly funded sexual health services and family planning clinics in NSW will implement a model for the delivery of PDPT for chlamydia.
The evaluation will focus on feasibility, uptake and acceptability in select publicly funded sexual health services and family planning clinics in NSW who implemented PDPT as standard clinical practice. In the evaluation, ADOPT will also identify a potential PDPT model for the delivery of PDPT for chlamydia in general practice, and assess feasibility and acceptability through consultation with general practitioners (GPs) and pharmacists.
